Loose Chippings
This was my second exhibition layout, built in 2002. The small space layout (4' x 1' plus 2' long sector plate) depicted the end of a very rural branch line - more of a twig really - in the 1950's.60's. Loosely based upon a former MR/LSWR line theme, it enabled the running of both Southern and London Midland allocated locomotives and stock.
After 19 exhibitions the layout was sold in 2009.
Scale: OO (4mm/1ft)
Size: 4ft x 1ft plus 2ft x 1ft 'fiddle yard'
Baseboard: 12mm plywood on softwood frame
Trackwork: Peco code 100, electrofrog points, Seep point motors
Buildings: Wills kits / Scratchbuilt
Backscene: Peco
Couplings: Traditional tension lock
